Cancellation and Refund Policy

Thank you for your interest in registering for a Kidlit Hive webinar, workshop, or class. By registering for an event, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and accept this policy’s terms and conditions. There are no extensions granted for any event offered via The Kidlit Hive.

*Minors (anyone under 18) may not attend these events.

General Format

Webinars cap at 500 participants and are presented in real time through Zoom. Following one hour of presentation from a guest presenter or panel, participants may ask questions through Zoom’s chat feature. There is no guarantee that individual questions will be asked or responded to.

Workshops and classes cap at 20 participants and are presented in real time through Zoom. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts and ideas, take notes, and actively participate. Some classes may incorporate in-class or homework assignments. All classes come with a syllabus that contains a class overview and breakdown of the weekly topics and content to be covered. Each syllabus is subject to change.

Please pay attention to time zone differences. All live event times are Eastern Time (New York). You must adjust your schedule to accommodate time differences, including changing from Standard to Daylight time.

Recordings

Webinar, workshop, and class recordings will be available to all event registrants for two weeks following the live event. After two weeks, they will no longer be available. Recordings are not to be captured or downloaded and may not be shared with anyone or posted anywhere. Failure to comply will result in removal from all Kidlit Hive events without a refund and being banned from attending future events.

*The Kidlit Hive does not guarantee recordings for any class.

Webinar Cancellation

  • Registration canceled at least 24 hours before the event start time will be refunded in full.
  • Registration canceled less than 24 hours before the event start time is not refundable.
  • No refunds are granted for no-shows.
  • Webinars are not transferable to another event or student.

Workshop and Multi-Week Class Cancellation

  • Registration canceled more than three business days before an event will be refunded in full.
  • No refunds are granted for no-shows.
  • Workshops and classes are not transferable to another event.
You may transfer your attendance to another participant before the commencement of the first workshop or class. Once the first class has commenced, however, attendance may not be transferred.

Cancellation by The Kidlit Hive

While every effort is made to avoid changes to our program, The Kidlit Hive reserves the right to withdraw or cancel any event. In the rare event that The Kidlit Hive cancels or postpones an event, registrants will be notified via email as soon as possible and will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer registration to another event of the same price.

If technical difficulty or an instructor’s emergency results in the cancellation of a single session of a multi-week class, the session may be rescheduled, or students will receive a refund of the prorated fee of a single class.

All Kidlit Hive events require a minimum number of registrants to proceed. If your webinar, workshop, or class does not have enough registrants, it will be canceled, and your registration fee will be refunded.

Instructor Changes

The Kidlit Hive reserves the right to change presenters and instructors when necessary. Our policy is to screen potential presenters and instructors carefully, ensuring that each has substantial field experience and a teaching or presenting background. We cannot guarantee that every attendee will be totally satisfied with every presenter or instructor, but every effort is made to ensure the competence of each presenter and instructor. Under no circumstances, however, can The Kidlit Hive refund course fees should an attendee be dissatisfied with their presenter or instructor.

General Cancellation & Refund Information

  • If a student is late for a class, the class will not be extended to compensate for missed time.
  • If the teacher is late or absent, the time will always be made up so that the student receives the full number of hours.
  • Before submitting a purchase request, you must ensure that you have the relevant technology to access the webinar, workshop, or event for which you are registering. Our events are facilitated via Zoom. The Kidlit Hive is not liable or responsible for any technical issues resulting from your failure to ensure compatibility as above. Due to its inherent nature, you acknowledge that The Kidlit Hive is not liable or responsible for any delay, disruption, or disturbance in the operation of the internet. If the technical problem is due to The Kidlit Hive’s error, we will consider issuing a refund.
  • The Kidlit Hive does not offer refunds in cases where a participant did not receive the event instructions and did not inform The Kidlit Hive within 24 hours of the event start time.
The format of webinars, workshops, and classes is subject to change. For example, some events might dedicate more of the allotted event time to the presentation portion and less to Q&A.

Processing of Cancellations & Refunds

All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by email to kidlithive@gmail.com.

The Kidlit Hive will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction unless another method is requested.
